Q: What can a Landscape Contractor do for me?
A:
A licensed C27 (landscape contractor) constructs, maintains, repairs, installs, or subcontracts the development of landscape systems which are designed to improve the grounds within or surrounding a structure or a tract or plot of land.

Q: Can a swimming pool company construct any of your construction outside of your pool?
A:
No, a licensed C53 (swimming pool contractor) can only construct swimming pools, spas, and pool solar systems. A swimming pool contractor cannot subcontract to an outside contractor for anything related outside of a pool, spa, or solar system. The customer needs to deal directly with an outside contractor for all related items outside of the swimming pool, spa, or solar system.

Q: What happens if I hit rock in the excavation of my pool? Do I have to blast the rock?
A: It is best to have a licensed C-12 evaluate the type of rock and determine a way of removing it. A licensed C-12 has many ways of removing the rock. For example, it can be removed with a breaking hammer or if necessary the use explosives may be used to remove the rock. It is important to have a C-12 excavation specialist make this call and not a C-53 pool contractor.

Q:   Is pipe size important to your swimming pool?
A:
Yes, extremely important.   The size of plumbing used in your pool will help your hydraulics, which in return dramatically increases the life of your equipment.

Q:   If I only have a pool and a spa, is a one-pump system better or worse for me?
A:   It really depends on the volume of your pool and spas, related to you plumbing and pump size. Also if you have over 6 jets in your spa, it is recommended if you wish to work your jets properly to have an additional pump.

Q:   What is the difference between a Salt Generator and a Chlorinator?
A:   A chlorinator will help with the maintenance of your pool by slowly adding chlorine to your pool.   A salt generator makes chlorine gas which in return does not have all the chemicals that liquid chlorine or chlorine tablets contain. The gas is pure chlorine which keeps your eyes from stinging, doesn't change the color or your hair, and doesn't leave a foul smell on your body after swimming.

Q:   What filter works the best DE, Cartridge, Sand?
A:
All filters work but some do make you pool clearer. The best is a personal choice based on your situation.
A DE (Diatomaceous Earth) filter will filter out your smallest particles, which will give you the clearest water. However backwashing can be an issue due to county and city regulations.
